Photo de Fanny ClaverieFanny Claverie obtained her Master « Méthodes Physico-chimiques d’Analyse appliquées à l’Environnement et aux Matériaux » from the University of Pau et les Pays de l’Adour in 2005.
She arrived at the laboratory the same year and began her PhD thesis in collaboration with Novalase, a company based in Aquitaine (Canéjan) and specialised in optic and laser integration.
She works on the prototype of the first integrated femtosecond laser ablation station (called ALFAMET) developed by Novalase and the laboratory. Her research consists in evaluating the analytical performances of the laser coupled to an ICP-MS and developing new applications for the analysis of trace elements in solid samples.
This research of new applications lead her to work in many fields of science such as biology (detection of selenoproteins in gel electrophoresis), environment (analysis of otoliths, insects, soils, and sediments), gemmology (sapphires) and geochemistry (petroleum), to name a few.
